My early exposure to yoga in my 20’s could be summed up as merely a dabble in different styles and at different studios. But I never found a passion or true connection to my practice. Then in 2010, I walked into my first candlelight Hot Flow class at Peace Love & Yoga to find some relief from chronic stress in my professional life. Simply put: I fell in love. I mean, the obsessive, can’t-get-enough kind of love. I found a warm, family-like atmosphere that was committed to safe and creative vinyasa flow and I slowly began to change my health, my mind and the relationship with my body. Shortly, thereafter, I became pregnant with my son. It was over the next several years of having two babies that the approach to my yoga practice became more spiritual. More breath-focused. More in-tune with the beautiful subtleties of yoga. Once my work and baby-raising life calmed down, my husband and I agreed it was the right time to take my practice to another level and attend PLAY’s 200 hour teacher training program. I wanted to bring my passion for yoga and experience with teaching adult learners to the students at PLAY. Over several months, I learned from incredible instructors and grew lifelong friendships with my classmates. It was one of the most rewarding and connected experiences in my life.

I am eternally grateful to Jess, Monique and all the instructors at Peace Love and Yoga for not only helping create my deep love affair with yoga but also for giving me the opportunity to share with our community how yoga grounds us in a meaningful life through a safe, creative and challenging practice. Join me on Wednesdays at 6:00 pm for How Flow, a 60-minute vinyasa flow. Explore how a set sequence in a toasty warm room supports a safely aligned and creative exploration of the asanas.
